Is Law truth or lie? John 1:17 seems to compare Law and Grace as if lie and truth?
John 1:17
The law was given by Moses,
[but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 3:17 seems to suggest law = condemner of world:
God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved (graced & truthed).

2Corinthians 3:7,9 calls law ministratrion of condemnation & death
that is to done away once law glory is compared to grace glory:
3:7 But if the ministration of death, written [and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which [glory] was to be done away:
3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation [be] glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

John 5:45 seems to call Moses’ law accuser of the brethren:
Do not think that I (grace and truth) will accuse you to the Father:
there is [one] that accuseth you, [even] Moses, in whom ye trust.

Only Law makes anyone a sinner or a criminal;
But Law is corruptible and wrongfully convicts,
not to mention curse of law "cursed every one".
God is one.

Xians seem to want to use law to make others sinners,
but Romans 2 says law judgment [krino] of anyone is both
"inexcusable" and ’self condemning’ with ‘consequences’:
indignation, wrath, tribulation, anguish upon "contentious".

Jesus used the law to make "sinners" and it got him killed,
not to mention one of seven last utterances was "forsaken".

Should we put away the surely die lie of Genesis 2:17,
since it seems to be "the law of commandments" which
Christ "abolished" to effectively abolish all the other law,
which was "added" and because of the transgression?

We seem to have plenty Rule of Law, so little Peace;
As many use "rod of iron" rule of law to punish and to kill.
What about God "upbraideth not" neither bites nor smites?

here is one to add that may answer your question…

1Timothy 1:9
"Knowing this, (read previous verses if you need to explain) that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,"

when a "Christian" says everyone is to live by the 10, they are NOT a "Christian" and are in fact spreading false doctrine.

the Law of Moses, including the 10 commandments, were given to a rebellious nation by God knowing they could not live by them, to turn their hearts back to God, rather than be rebellious.

These are all good examples of the antisemitic attitude of the Pauline era of early Christianity, thanks.

The Law is truth, not a lie… and grace is truth, not a lie - it does not abolish the Law.

Romans 3:20
"because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin."

The Law is absolute, incorruptible.

The "forsaken" utterance was when God had to separate Himself from the human part of His Son, because He could not look upon the sins of the world which His Son bore

The "surely die" part of Gen 2:17 was not a lie either. Along with the loss of innocence, their relationship with the living God and subsequent expulsion from the garden with it’s accompanying curses, they also had lost their chance to eat of the tree of life to have immortality.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil made each of us responsible for our own free will decisions and choices and their consequences. We determine our own fate and destiny, both here now on the earth and in the afterlife. That is based on the Law, which is based on the love of God and other people. To ignore them, or to not be forgiven of them by God’s mercy and grace, we will surely die.

Forgiveness does not abolish the law or the consequences sin has on our lives and the lives of others.
